    SUMMARY

Many of the group arrived early and either got to enjoy the torrential downpours and sky-splitting lightening on Thursday from the comfort of their own campers or the safety of their tow vehicles through the scenic mountain roads! Surely the diversion helped keep the Outer Banks travelers interested and awake, though they all seemed pretty wiped out when they pulled in.

The Zeppi's showed up in yet another class of camping unit. This time they had a Class B+. Not too spacious from, but very convenient for pulling their new boat. Greg and Tonya treated many of us to boat rides throughout the weekend. Greg and his crew did a great job and didn't really leave us with any 'good' boat stories! We also rented the pontoon boat and did some swimming in the coves. We learned that Mt. Dew does not float and despite several rescue attempts a full can was sacraficed to the Lake. The water was a bit cooler this year and sipping ice-cold beer while floating just didn't seem to help! Todd and Bonnie brought along a huge floating raft that Greg pulled behind the boat. We also tried tying it to the post on the bank with about 200 yards of rope...that just resulted in us banking it 200 yards further down the Lake! At one point it also set sea with one paddle and six people frantically waving their arms in the water for power. Randy and Stephanie also brought along their kayaks that many people, including Fritz, enjoyed.

Friday night was hot dogs and pot luck, Saturday morning was breakfast complete with baggie-omlets, and Saturday night turned into pasta night. And, you know you're a redneck when you've turned the tailgate of your pickup truck into the desert table buffet! Bonnie's key lime pie was a big hit at the Chevy Silverado! Treats and goodies didn't come so easily to the children, however. Denise, our child-specialist, had Alex and Tyler singing, dancing, and begging for their treats throughout the weekend. One night Cheryl had braided all the girls' hair and the boys almost had to get theirs done but Denise just couldn't be that cruel.

No trip is complete without a man-project. The guys worked on Lee and Heidi's slide out issue for their project this time.
